Standard Operations and Procedures

New Pilot Registration

1. Your full name is required.
2. As we require all pilots to fly on the VATSIM network we require your CID (VATSIM pilot ID) for flight tracking and validation purposes. If you do not have a CID you can obtain one by registering at the VATSIM site.
3. The vEJA Pilot ID consists of the ICAO Identifier for vEJA (EJA) and your choice of the pool of unused 3 or 4 digit numbers (e.g. EJA025, EJA1145). Your Pilot ID serves as your callsign on the VATSIM network and provides access to the dispatch system.
4. A valid EMail address is required for all pilots.
5. A password is optional but encouraged.
6. Select an aircraft type that best suits your needs.

Flight Dispatch and Pilot Reports

1. Register and give yourself a Pilot ID.
2. The system will place your location at KSDL (Scottsdale Airport). Your first flight will originate from there.
3. Go to the dispatch page, enter your Pilot ID, and then click the Submit button.
4. Enter the number of hours you'd like to fly, and then click the "Request Next Assignment" button.
5. The page will update with your assigned route (it will be marked A for assigned in your Pilot Log).
6. After completing your flight, return to the Dispatch page, and enter your hours in the "Hours" box (hours can be entered either as hours:minutes - 2:12, or hours.fractions 2.2).
7. Click the "Submit" button to submit your PIREP (Pilot Report).
8. The system will then mark your route as C (completed).
9. You can now request your next route assignment. If you already have an open route, the system will not let you choose another.

Flight Operations

All vEJA pilots are required to be logged on to the VATSIM network when flying assigned routes. While logged on, we ask that you using the following:
ICAO Identifier: EJAxxx - where xxx is your EJA Pilot ID (e.g. EJA145)
Radio Callsign: ExecJet
For example, if you are on the roster as EJA014, you will enter EJA014 as your callsign in FSINN or SquawkBox, and identify yourself verbally to Air Traffic Control as ExecJet Zero One Four.

Fixed Base: vEJA is headquartered at Scottsdale Municiple Airport (KSDL) in Phoenix, Arizona. While not all flights will be to or from KSDL, the majority of flights will involve KSDL as either an origin, or the final destination.

Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) flight operations will be out of Phoenix Sky-Harbor International Airport (KPHX). Scottsdale Municiple can not handle an aircraft of this size - therefore operations have been transferred to KPHX which is roughly 13nm to the south.

Administration

Changing Equipment Type: Our dispatcher now allows you to change your assigned aircraft at any time. While experimentation is encouraged, very frequent changes should be avoided.

Inactive Pilots: We do not require that you fly a certain amount of flights or hours each month, but consecutive months of inactivity without prior arrangements will freeze your Pilot ID and access to the dispatch page. This lockout will continue until the matter is resolved. vEJA reserves the right to remove any pilot from the roster at any time, for any reason.
